Trip to Galveston and house updates

Well, apparently Matt had taken my camera to work with him last week so I didn't have it with me when we went to Galveston! Ugg!!!

We got there Saturday night and went to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. That place is SOOO cool and the boys loved it (they have been before but it's been a couple of years.) Then we went back to the hotel and watched the lightening over the Gulf. It was awesome- the lightening was going sideways all across the sky. Seeing something like that and you can't help but KNOW that there is Someone out there bigger than us, ya know??

We got up Sunday morning, ate the contintintal breakfast (gotta love those with four kids!) and then went to Schitterbaun. We had never been to that one and we really enjoyed it. Blayden actually fell asleep in his intertube (it was a double one so I was on one side and he was on the side that had the mesh netting so he wouldn't fall through) and slept for about 45 minutes while we went around and around the wave "river" there. Too cute!! We got home at a decent hour on Sunday night too, so that was nice.

Now for the house update! :-) Monday (yesterday) evening Matt and I took out all of the carpet in the living room and hallway that leads to the boys rooms and cleaned it all up. Matt has a crew coming tomorrow morning at 5:30 am (!!!!!) to tear up all of the tile in the kitchen, entry way, hallway off of the kitchen, dining room, the extra half bathroom, around the fireplace, and the laundry room. We are getting slate tile for all of that, and then we're going to get wood floors down in the living room and hallway. I'm SOOOO excited!! We also went today and picked out the granite countertops that we want for the kitchen, and we'll go tonight and get a new kitchen sink. It should all be done by next Monday or Tuesday, so I'm super excited, and it'll look awesome. I'll be SURE to take pictures of that and post them!!

Glad you guys had fun in Galveston - I didn't even know their was a Schlitterbahn there, I thought the one in New Braunfels was the only one. Cool!

Sounds like you guys are doing the same remodel stuff as us. It's amazing what a difference hardwood and tile make over carpet! Can't wait to see finished pics!
